Is it possible to get images from space?
The satellite imaging is a matter discussed often, and unfortunately, is one which leads to exaggeration and misinformation, due to the lack of concrete information.
Developed countries spend billions of dollars to produce defense and communication satellites. These comprise satellites used in air traffic control, relaying communications (tv, phone, Internet), weather forecasts, mapping (cadastral surveys).
Such satellites can only discern and photograph objects above soil, and even then, at a diameter of at least 2.5 - 3 m (vehicles, buildings, streets, avenues etc.). They lack the capability to photograph objects lying under the soil.
